First test with Proteas ends!

It was a South Africa's tour Of India,The first test was scheduled at Nagpur and As usual,It was highly expected from the Indian players since they were No.1 side in the test team, and hope they will be more confident after a couple of wins over Bangladesh,But the things got changed, from 6/2 India never got a chance back into the game due to the flawless batting from Amla and Kallis,Indian bowlers felt very very difficult to pick wickets.Amla was at his best and remained not out till the end,and some how proteas declared with a score over 500 making things difficult for India,as the same happened In-form gambhir got out without getting a good score, and somehow Sehwag got his 100 and Badrinath on his first appearance got his maiden 50,and after that India did not see any big contributions and were forced for follow-on,at least they should have come back, but no! once again Gambhir getting out very early and this time sehwag did not do much and Sachin getting his 46 century was making every Indian happy! and once again no big contributions! that saw India loosing the game and South Africa winning the game with an innings to spare...will meet @ eden gardens!

trial pink balls in Futures

Day-night Test cricket could be a step closer after Cricket Australia confirmed they would trial a pink ball under lights during next week's Futures League match at Adelaide Oval. The test-run is intended to determine how the pink ball holds up in the longer format of the game and how visible it is when used at night.

The three-day game between South Australia and Western Australia's second XIs will be played from 2.30pm until 9.30pm, starting next Tuesday, February 2. At the same time, a Futures League match in Brisbane will use a pink ball while a game in Melbourne will feature a white ball, with both those games to be play during the day only.

If the pink ball does not discolour too much, maintains the characteristics of a red ball throughout an innings and is visible to players and spectators under lights, it could bring day-night Tests much closer. The ICC and Cricket Australia are keen to play Test cricket under lights in an effort to increase the viewing audience and they are hopeful the first games could be played within two years.

"Cricket Australia is committed to finding a way to make day-night Test cricket a reality and the Adelaide Oval trial is one of many steps that need to be taken before this vision is realised," James Sutherland, the CEO of Cricket Australia, said. "The results of the trial won't provide all the answers or a definitive outcome, but it will give us important information and feedback on the delivery of the project."

Next week's games will be followed by further trials to assess how the coloured balls show up on television. The four-day domestic first-class competition in the West Indies this month has already featured day-night games with pink balls as the push for day-night Tests gains momentum

Not a horrible loss!

Toss really matters for India and In this Idea cup MS dhoni was not lucky as ever he used to win the toss and this time,Kumar Sangakkara was doing the right thing in the finals,b/w India and SL Idea cup,India was put on to bat after SL won the toss and right from the beginning Indian batsmen were struggling to get runs and the Sri lankan bowlers were not making any mistake, not giving any kind of loose balls,it was only sehwag who was as usual playing a blitzkrieg and he too got out in a cheap fashion and Including the Indian captain was not taking up the responsibility to stay at the middle till the end and India was almost 5 down for 60 and just 12 overs on the broad it was Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja who anchored India to a respectful total of 245 and they both had a brilliant 106 run partnership and Raina continued till he got a century and tried to stay till the last ball, but he coudt't,but he was bating superbly made 106 that was more than enough for India to come out from the struggle and It was up to the bowlers to contain the decent target, but as usual the dew factor coming into the play and once again Indian bowlers has been hammered right from the beginning and though Indians tried to get the first wicket in the first over Dilshan and Sangakkara once again played well to take off the pressure on them and at last it was Mahela finishing off the things in style...

It's a transplant pitch-Kotla pitch fiasco

23.4 Tyagi to Kandamby, 1 wide, sharper still, as this one flies up off the track past the batsman, hitting one of those treacherous patches, and Dhoni does really well to stop the ball with one hand, a wide is called for some reason...

This was the last ball, that led the Srilankan captain to call-off their players from the middle and the match was abandoned for quite sometime and after an hour the match was almost cancelled...To be more surprise there was not even an Presentation at the ground the crowd would have felt happy at least after watching the presentation, though the money back has been guaranteed, the people would not felt happy..They were looking for the match..But the officials had no other option to call-off the match considering the future physical injuries to the players.

One more thing to be noted up is that,Kotla has been given 4 of the world cup matches to be played there and this Pitch fiasco has created a lot of tension among the BCCI and DCDA,since the ground could face a ban of at-least 18 months and then the ICC will look further considering the matches to be played at kotla

India go up 3-1

The Eden gardens has always been a special ground and one of the best grounds in INDIA,and it was the same venue where The Lankans were declared as winners during the semi-finals of 1996 world cup after the match was abandoned due to some reasons and many knew what was it and it was the ground that saw Vinod Khambli leaving the ground with tears in his eyes, and Dec 24 happened to be another day-night ODI encounter b/w India and Srilanka and The lankans winning the toss and electing to bat first and luckily getting the wicket of Dangerous dilshan first and managed to control the lankans to make 316 In spite of Losing dilshan early and Indians to the reply losing both the openers with just 4 overs being bowled and I was upto the Young Virat Kohli and the test cricketer of the year Gambhir

Being in the pressure of losing two quick wickets,Both of them batted brilliantly, rotating the strike and boundaries coming in time and they played hard and the good thing was both the batsman came up with their centuries and made sure that the run rate was below 6.5,Kohli made his maiden ODI ton along with Gambhir making his 7th odi ton put on a record breaking partnership of 224 for the third wicket and India successfully chased the highest total in the Eden Gardens and It was Gambhir who batted through out the Innings made a magnificent 150,and the Highlight of the match was that,Gambhir told Kohli to come up and collect the MOM,before that Gambhir was adjudged as the MOM..

Aussies are practically down....

They were long time dominating the cricketing world, they were the best of all.But now since they have been playing some really bad cricket, the Aussies are practically down and they have knocked down to 4th place in the ICC test rankings. It's really hard to regain back after facing a prolong critics all around the world. But what our Aussie captain says is that" We will be back and we are more hungry for redemption".They were missing the top speed star Brett Lee,a major cause for the losing the Ashes,So it all over,The Australians have lost the 2009 Ashes 2-1 and now they have to look ahead for the up-coming ventures, now they are looking forward to play with Scotland and hope winning with them may gain back the confidence with the Aussie dressing room, since Lee is making his come back this would be a vital game for both of the teams.Australia's squad has changed significantly over the past four days, with Ricky Ponting heading home with the Test specialists, and Brad Haddin having surgery on his broken left ring finger. A batch of fresh faces has arrived to join Michael Clarke, the stand-in captain, as the group starts planning for the bigger tournaments ahead. Ponting will return towards the end of the seven-match one-day series against England to fine tune before the Champions Trophy in South Africa at the end of September.

Good Luck Guys, hope to see you back in winning ways..
